July Favorites
I’m not much of a summer girl, but July is always a fun month. We spent 4th of July in Orland Park with my sister-in-law, played in splash pads with Sienna, and I took a girls trip to Colorado! July was packed with a lot of fun - here are my favorites.
Hobby
I recently took tennis back up after not playing since high school (too many years to count). I met some people at the park to play with and also joined a tournament at a tennis club. It was my first time playing on clay, and it was pretty fun! I’ve really enjoyed picking up my racket again - sometimes even at 5:30am to get some hits in before we start our day.
Restaurant
I went to Avli in June, and then again in July! They have great food options and deals, like lunch specials and happy hour menus. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is pretty and refreshing. It can be a little pricey, but it’s totally worth it!
Coffee Shop
During our girls trip in Breckenridge, CO, we stopped at Unravel Coffee twice. The coffee was delicious and their food was also amazing and filling. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito, and also had a honey almond latte (iced of course).
Shop
Marigold’s Farmhouse Funk & Junk was my favorite shop we stopped in while we were in Colorado. It had an eclectic with a 70s western vibe, and had the cutest trinkets and clothes! I ended up buying a hat, scarf, and mug.
Recipe
I don’t have Sweetgreen often, but I ordered some earlier this month and loved their avocado chicken salad. I tried to recreate it at home, and even though I’m missing a lot of ingredients, I’ve really enjoyed it! Basically, it’s just mixed greens, chicken, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, crushed tortilla chips, and some cilantro dressing from Trader Joe’s.
Book
Taylor Jenkins Reid does it again. I listened to Atmosphere on audiobook and loved it. It’s about a woman in the 80s who joins NASA once they open their program to women. She grows her passions for science and excels in her career, breaking the glass ceiling, but also goes on a journey of self discovery and growth. It’s incredible! 5/5 stars.
As usual, may your weekend be full of creativity and style.
